This song is about being young and careless and finally not feeling guilty about it but all the while realizing where this road will lead if you continue accordingly and how liberating that can be and with that liberation follows the conclusion that you don't need to fit into these predetermined roles that it was assumed you would always become because of heritage or just behavior and although this "road of carelessness" may lead to road blocks it's much better to live and die doing what you want to do as opposed to living in fear of what other people may think of you if you chose to be so selfish as to follow that road. finally it's about never letting that fear keep you from experiencing the life that you want to live " I would rather die alone then live in fear".
